Red Bay of LA Rosy Boa
Red Bay of LA Rosy Boa – Vivid Line-Bred Reds from Baja’s Eastern Coast
The Red Bay of LA Rosy Boa is a stunning selectively bred line originating from the Bay of Los Angeles locality (Lichanura trivirgata gracia). First developed by Randy Limburg, this project focused on enhancing the naturally red hues found in the Bay of LA population through several generations of selective line breeding.
The result is a vivid, ruby-to-brick red striped rosy boa with exceptional color saturation and contrast. The Red Bay of LA maintains the clean, even striping typical of the locality, while emphasizing rich red pigment along the dorsal and lateral lines over a soft tan or cream base. With age, these boas often deepen in color, displaying the warm red tones that make the line instantly recognizable.
Red Bay of LA Rosy Boas are hardy, calm, and excellent feeders. Their intense coloration and long-established history as a pure locality-based line-bred project make them a cornerstone in the Baja rosy boa community.
Line origin: Randy Limburg
Locality base: Bay of Los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico
Genetics: Line-bred trait (selectively enhanced coloration; not a morph)
Species: Lichanura trivirgata gracia (Baja Rosy Boa)
Highlights: Vivid red striping • Pure Bay of LA foundation • Line-bred by Randy Limburg • Excellent feeders and calm temperament
