Overview: Tri Color Hognose are one of the best kept secrets in the pet trade! Their striking coloration and little upturned snout make them a very desirable pet snake. However, with hognose being part of their common name they often are thought to have the same care as western hognose. They are much different than western hognose and besides sharing hognose in their common name, there really is nothing they have in common. They are not even in the same genus! Although their care differs from Western Hognose they are very easy to care for! Making them one of the most sought after pet snakes in the hobby. Due to the lack of good information online and also my personal experience of trial and error, I have decided to write this care sheet based on what I have come to learn about this awesome species. To be forthcoming there has only been one care sheet I have found that is accurate and that is from Roy over at Wellspring Herp. Most other care sheets I have read have at least one part of misinformation that is based out of the thought of them being similar to Western Hognose.
